Writing
A short post about some theories I had.
Kindle Vella
As mentioned in an earlier post, 2023 has been the best year for Vella (for me), and I joined the program at launch, back in 2021. My first bonus was less than $50. Now my average is $600 a month. Not much to live on, but it helps pay bills and writing expenses.
Kindle Vella
An update on the editing process, as well as a peak at my notes.
Kindle Vella
Several authors have already jumped ship, discouraged by low bonuses.
Kindle Vella
The current theory seems to be that Amazon is no longer factoring in updates as part of its algorithm, instead prioritizing actual engagement, such as reads, likes, etc. It would appear this was their way of counteracting ChatGPT crafted stories, which were draining bonus money from actual authors.
Last Train Home
For fans and those curious about my web serial.
Writing
Currently, there are six books I want to publish for sure next year, and draft a seventh.
Newsletters
Posting this a week later than intended, but I've had a lot going on lately (mostly work). I've also been hard at work writing, both for my WIP and my ongoing Vellas. Blog Two things of note: I have a new short story up, both available
Newsletters
Just a recap of my month in July.
Kindle Vella
And all this wouldn't be possible if I were still working at Walmart. I have a lot of time on my hands until the checks stop coming late July, and want to take full advantage of it while I can!
Journal
Well, it's official! My last day of work came earlier than expected, on Wednesday. There was too much dust flying around the store.
Kindle Vella
I settled on a title and cover for my upcoming Kindle Vella, about a con artist mage and their giant spider companion.
Kindle Vella
I originally had something slightly different in mind, such as adding Meike's silhouette. I didn't want to give people the wrong idea about the story, ya know? Since Pickles is a side character, and all. But I feel like this gives the cover more an air of mystery, plus people love a cute dog.
