I just now realized I skipped September (oops). I had a lot going on that month, with my new job and then editing my book, and writing several Kindle Vellas...It should be better now.

Last month was…interesting. In multiple ways. I left my job (detailed in this post), I had a successful first newsletter promo with Bookfunnel, I finished editing my book, and finalized the cover!

Normally I'd divide these up in segments, but I actually don't have much to say about the past two months. Nothing really good, anyway; I was really stressed by work and the experience left me a little traumatized. The two big events were about my latest book.

Melody Knighton did an excellent job with my cover (which I'm sure you've seen by now; if not, check out the Amazon page), and I'd like to hire her again to design the next two covers.

And while it's not as much as I got for Fluid Bonding (I suspect most people added it to their wishlist, as confirmed by one reader), I was still happy to generate some buzz for it. I'm very confident about this book, niche as it seems, and hope it does well in KU. I regret not doing the same with Fluid Bonding when it launched, but everyone stressed the importance of going wide.

I also ran my first newsletter promo with Bookfunnel, and was surprised to see 50+ people sign up to read my novella! Fifteen people didn't download it (they had to confirm via email, but may have used throwaway accounts), but everyone else did. Still very good odds, and I feel better about running a second promo next month.

Anyway, I'm going to look for a new job. My writing can only carry me so far!
