CH 36 — Vallens
Sitting around and watching was not ver idea of a good time, but Vallens knew ve were the only one fit for the task. Didn’t stop vem from (not so jokingly) suggesting one of the kids do it instead. They were small and agile enough to squeeze into the attic with ease, but the joke was met with silence from one, and outright scorn from the other.
Involving yet another person in their schemes was too risky, and Tangerine was the limit for vem. Anyone else would have to find their own way, or be tossed out as a distraction for the bears.
Vallens rubbed ver lips, wishing for something to suck on as ve stood watch that night. Eddie didn’t always stay within sight, preferring to wander out into the frost as he dutifully shoveled snow and awaited new potential victims.
