“I can’t believe Vallens is missing out on this!”

Eisbaer was worried about the rain at first, but the shield extended a good distance over the lake, stopping near the center. There was even a dock with several boats: a simple rowboat, a pair of paddle boats for lovers, and a proper vessel meant to survive the vast sea. That latter held no import to Eisbaer, who was prone to motion sickness. And where would they even go?

She disappeared under the water, reveling in the even temperature. Not too hot, not too cold. Just perfect. Saffron circled her like a shark, occasionally popping out to splash about like a great furry shark. Laughing, she splashed back before lunging and pinning it beneath the waves. When it got to be too much, they retreated to the shore to admire the odd contrast between calm and hectic. The storm beyond the shield was in total chaos, disrupting trees and sending small twisters skipping across the surface, and tormenting hundreds of unseen animals.
