CH 138 - Dopamine (season 6 premiere)

A partly open window at dawn, soft glow spilling over a series of small plants.

Winter was a magical time, a time for introspection, feasts, good company, and a near endless stream of quests. Sorrel dined well and had more than a few sips of fine wine and fruity liquor. Everyone seemed to think it would be funny, them getting drunk, but Sorrel always backed out when things started to get fuzzy. They liked being in full control of their facilities, hated the feel of the world tilting.

It just wasn’t fun. Nor was being the sober one in a room full of tipsy people. People got silly and weird when they were drunk, though those in Sorrel’s orbit were better off than most. Pickles mostly slept through it, cuddled up on his dreadful rug. Sometimes he complained about headaches, but Cass cleared them up with a quick cure she spun up for the both of them.
